(Formerly CRIJ 2434) This course introduces students to techniques used by police officers on patrol, including controlled substance identification, dealing with persons with abnormal behavior, traffic collision investigation, note taking and report writing, vehicle operations, traffic direction, crowd control, and jail operations. Prerequisites: Texas Peace Officer Law (CJLE 2421), approval of department chair, and Reading level 4. (4:3-4)
