(Formerly COSM 1422, COSM 1314) (Not offered after Summer 2008) This course provides in-depth coverage of the theory and practice of skin care, facials, and cosmetics. Topics of study include facial cleansing; manipulations; toning; moisturizing; application of packs and masks; daytime, evening and corrective makeup; cosmetic chemistry; and superfluous hair removal techniques. Prerequisite and co-requisite: Reading level 4 and courses taken in level sequence order or department chair approval. 176 contact hours per semester. Students may not receive credit for CSME 1547 if they have previously earned credit for COSM 1422 or COSM 1314. (5:3-8)
