RADR 1167 - Practicum VI-Medical Radiologic Technology/Technician

1 hour Practical, general workplace training supported by an individualized learning plan developed by the employer, college, and student. A health practicum will be an unpaid learning experience. Requires rotating through different work areas. Competencies include: performance of all duties required of a registered radiologic technologist to include patient positioning, technical factor selection, interpersonal communication skills and radiographic image evaluation regarding anatomy, positioning and technical factors; reading and understanding and demonstrating understanding of positioning materials by selecting necessary equipment and producing standard radiographic images on patients with the required supervision; ability to prioritize and organize activities necessary to complete examinations; completion of necessary paperwork (some on computer) related to radiographic examinations performed; assisting with fl uoroscopic examinations; demonstrating specifi c exams on a patient (performance evaluation). Includes all clinical rotations. (SCANS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: RADR 2367. Corequisite: RADR 2235.
