3 hours A study of the child, family, community, and schools, including parent education and involvement, family and community lifestyles, child abuse, and current family life issues. Consistent with State Board for Educator Certification standards. Requires students to participate in 15 hours of field experiences with children from infancy through age 12 in a variety of settings with varied and diverse populations. Lab fee required. (SCANS 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: None.
