(2-4) 3 hours General principles of medication administration including determination of dosage, preparation, safe administration, and documentation of multiple forms of drugs. Instruction includes various systems of measurement. The student will demonstrate accurate dosage calculation; discuss the principles of safe medication administration; and identify the elements of accurate documentation of medication administration. Math proficiency is determined by examination. (SCANS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: Program admission.
