3 hours A study of practices and procedures that are involved in drilling operations. Topics on rig equipment, casing design, fi shing, and proper procedures to successfully drill a well are implemented. Instruction in volume calculations, hydrostatic pressures, formations pressures, and analyzing problems in downhole drilling operations. (SCANS 1, 3, 6, 8, 9) Prerequisite: PTRT 1301 or consent of the department chair.
