3 hours each Presents secondary seventh chords, modulation, chromatic melody and harmony, and small forms through analysis, part-writing, composition, ear-training, sight-singing, rhythmic reading and keyboard applications. Twentieth century melody and harmony and large forms are studied during the second semester. Required for all music majors. (SCANS 6, 11) Prerequisite for MUSI 2311: MUSI 1312. Prerequisite for MUSI 2312: MUSI 2311.
