(2-7) 4 hours This course covers electrical systems and special considerations necessitated by lean burn emissions gas engines. A portion of the class time will be spent discussing principles of the lean burn engines, the advanced wiring associated with the accompanying control systems, and doing tests and adjustments on a running Lean Burn Natural Gas air/fuel ratio controlled engine. The effective use of Caterpillar service literature will be practiced. Lab fee required. (SCANS 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: DEMR 1472, consent of department chair or instructor.
