4 hours Introduction to the Caterpillar World Wide Origination and the Caterpillar Dealer Network. This will cover Caterpillar history, shop equipment, tools and safety practices, engine nomenclature and professional responsibilities. Students will learn principles in using and interpreting Caterpillar Service Information System and Service Technician Work Bench regarding service information of Caterpillar engines. Lab fee required. (SCANS 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: Must be sponsored by a Caterpillar Dealer.
