(3-6) 5 hours Basic preparation for a new peace officer. Covers field note taking, report writing, "use of force" law and concepts, problemsolving, multiculturalism, professional policing approaches, patrol procedures, victims of crime, family violence, MHMR, crowd management, HAZMAT, and criminal investigation. This course taken in conjunction with Basic Peace Officer I, III and IV will satisfy the TCLEOSE-approved Basic Peace Officer Academy. (SCANS 6, 7, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: None.
