3 hours Basic mechanical skills and repair techniques common to most fi elds of industrial maintenance and gas compression. Topics include precision measuring instruments and general safety rules common in industry, including lock-out/tag-out, basic shop tools and test equipment, student will be able to identify and use the proper tool, use human protective equipment and correctly use and dispose of hazardous materials. Lab fee required. (SCANS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Prerequisite: Consent of department chair or instructor.
