3 hours each Surveys and studies solo literature for piano. Emphasizes individual and period idioms and styles. MUSI 1371 presents origins of keyboard and solo piano literature of the 18th century. MUSI 1372 presents solo piano literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. Information is acquired and listening skills are enhanced through the use of cassette tapes, videotapes, CDs, CD-ROMs, and live performance. (SCANS 6, 11) Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor.
