(3-0) 3 hours Introduction to the organization and management of a fi re department and the relationship of government agencies to the fi re service. Emphasis on fi re service leadership from the perspective of the company offi cer. The student will explain the intra-organizational cooperation needed for a fi re department to function properly; describe fundamental management and organizational principles; and demonstrate leadership and management skills at the company grade level. (SCANS 6, 7, 9, 10) Prerequisite: None.
