Meets the General Education Requirement for quantitative reasoning.] A foundational course designed for the liberal arts students. Emphasis is upon application of math to everyday problems, developing reasoning ability, and using technology appropriately. Topics include problem solving techniques in algebra, geometry, consumer applications, probabilities and statistics. Not available for credit if a higher level or higher numbered math has been taken, except MATH 2003 Introduction to Statistics. Prerequisite: SAT MATH score of 480/ACT MATH score of 20, or two years of high school algebra, or a satisfactory score on a math placement exam.
