This course is designed to broaden the student's perception of the church's mission in ever changing U.S. pluralist cultures. The focus of the course is a 3-week intensive at sites such as: India, Singapore, Africa, or the Philippines. Students participate in and present lessons at pastoral training schools and experience exposure to ethnographic analysis, indigenous pastoral perspectives, and cross cultural strategies for discipleship training and leadership development in local churches. The course concludes with a written project applying principles learned abroad to church ministry in diverse U.S. cultures. The course is in two segments: (1) Spring semester preparation, and (2) a three-week on-site summer experience. There is a course attachment fee.
