Application of client assessment skills, critical thinking, and independent nursing interventions to care for diverse clients/families throughout the life span whose health care needs may be difficult to predict. Emphasis on collaborative clinical decision- making, nursing leadership skills and client management. Topics include the significance of professional development, trends in nursing and health care, and applicable knowledge, judgment, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Nursing process is the systematic problem-solving process utilized. This course contains capstone activities for ADN students. Prerequisites: BIOL 2420, SPCH (college level), RNSG 2514, RNSG 2462 with a grades of C or better. Must have taken or currently be enrolled in a Humanities Elective. Corequisites: RNSG 2463. Semester Hours 5 (4 lec/ 2 lab)
