Introduces the student to social work values, selected social problems, social welfare as an institution of this society, social work as a profession, and practice settings of the professional social worker. In addition to knowledge area, students are introduced to the "real" world through a required thirty-hour community service experience. Theyare placed in diverse local social agencies and learn about problems, clients, agencies, and programs. Semester Hours 3 (3 lec)
