Application of a systematic problem-solving process and critical thinking skills to provide nursing care to diverse clients/families across the life span with common health care needs including, but not limited to, common childhood/adolescent diseases, uncomplicated perinatal care, mental health concepts, perioperative care, frequently occurring adult health problems and health issues related to aging. Emphasis on secondary disease prevention and collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary health care team. Content includes applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills and professional values within a legal/ethical framework. Nursing process is the systematic problem-solving process utilized. Prerequisites: BIOL 2401, PSYC 2314 RNSG 1523, RNSG 1462 with grades of C or better. Corequisites: RNSG 1463. Semester Hours 5 (4 lec/2 lab)
