Presents the fundamentals of medical transcription with hands-on experience in transcribing physician dictation including basic reports such as history and physicals, discharge summaries, consultations, operative reports, and other medical reports. Utilizes transcribing and information processing equipment compatible with industry standards. Designed to develop speed and accuracy. Prerequisite: ITSW 1301, POFM 1233 or HITT 1249, HPRS 1206 with a grade of C or better; concurrent enrolled in POFI 2301. Semester Hours 3 (2 lec/2 lab)
