The first of a two-semester sequence of courses designed for those planning to teach in elementary or middle school or complete the AAT degree, this course emphasizes mathematical reasoning and writing. Topics include small- and large-group problem solving, sets, number systems, number theory, operations, arithmetic, place value and bases, fractions, and decimals.
