Introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) covering fingerspelling, vocabulary, and basic sentence structure in preparing individuals to interpret oral speech for the hearing impaired. An introduction to the basic skills in production and comprehension of American Sign Language (ASL). Includes the manual alphabet and numbers. Develops conversational ability, culturally appropriate behaviors, and exposes students to ASL grammar. Semester Hours 4 (3 lec/2 lab)
