Surveys the historical, economic, social, cultural, and political development of Mexican-Americans from the Mexican-American War of 1846-1848 to the present. Gives attention to the borderlands, migration/immigration, social, cultural, economic, political developments, and civil rights issues impacting the Mexican-American population in their efforts for inclusion into the American political system.
