Description: PREREQUISITES SUGGESTED, BUT NOT REQUIRED: Business Organizations (7110) and Securities Act 1933 (7075) This course will explore the legal and regulatory aspects of the investment management industry, with particular emphasis on mutual funds. It will focus primarily on the federal Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, with attention also to the relevant portions of the federal Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Pertinent aspects of state corporate and securities law will also be considered.
