An introductory course in organic chemistry for liberal arts and other nontechnical majors. This course satisfies requirements for most nursing students and other allied health majors. Covers basic chemical principles, the chemistry of carbon and its compounds, fuels, polymers, foods and nutrition, and physiologically active compounds and application of organic chemistry to modern living. Credit will not be given for both CHEM 1419 and CHEM 1411 or 1412. Lecture Hrs = 3, Lab Hrs = 3 Pre/Corequisite: READ 301 or equivalent and (MATH 310 or equivalent or prerequisite TECM 1341)
