Description: Students will write a substantial research paper written under the supervision of a faculty member. The faculty member supervising a Directed Research project will actively monitor both the research and the writing. This active monitoring normally will include: refinement of the proposed topic after acceptance, progress meetings, review and criticism of outlines, and review and criticism of a first draft.
