A survey of western and non-western literature from the beginnings through the Renaissance considered within the cultural epochs of their creation, including the Classical Period, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. Readings may include Gilgamesh, The Ramayana, and selections from authors such as Homer, Ovid, Confucius, Dante, Montaigne, and Cervantes. Credit, 3 semester hours. PREREQ: "C" grade or better in ENG 1050 and 1060.
