Through the application of a systematic problem-solving process and critical thinking skills to provide nursing care to diverse clients/families across the lifespan with common health care needs including, but not limited to, common childhood/ adolescent diseases, uncomplicated perinatal care, mental health concepts, perioperative care, frequently occurring adult health problems and health issues related to aging. Emphasis on secondary disease prevention and collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Content includes applicable competencies in knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework facilitating the student's advancement in the role/competencies as a Provider of Care. Prerequisites: RNSG 1219, RNSG 1360, and RNSG 1523. Corequisites: RNSG 1229 and RNSG 1461 (or RNSG 1361), or consent of Program Director.
