Instruction in advanced essay writing designed to prepare nonnative students to enter ENGL 1301. Trains students to write academically acceptable papers in various rhetorical modes with a primary focus on argumentation. Focuses on mechanics of writing, common problems that ESL speakers encounter, research, and documentation. Prerequisites: ESLG 0310 and ESLW 0310. Prerequisite/concurrent enrollment: ESLG 0315. 3 credit hours. Note: May not be used to satisfy the requirement for an associate degree Developmental courses may be taken for a combined total of no more than 27 credit hours.
