Previously MATH 157 Elements of Calculus Surveys differential and integral calculus, emphasizing uses in business and social science. Intended for students who wish only a brief course in calculus. Either MATH& 151 (prev MATH 124) or MATH& 148 (prev MATH 157) may be taken for credit, not both. Fulfills the quantitative or symbolic reasoning course requirement at BCC. Prerequisite: Placement by assessment, or MATH 138 (prev MATH 156) with a C- or better.
