Field and laboratory sessions focus on data analysis based on issues from students' daily lives which leads to an examination of alternatives. How do you quit smoking? What is in the water you drink and the food you eat? The course culminates in a project that explores the historical, political, and environmental aspects of an unsolved scientific problem and presents the findings to a regional scientific agency.
