A multidisciplinary study of Italy including social, political, economic and cultural issues with particular emphasis upon the post-1945 period; attention is given also to Italy's role in Europe. The course also introduces students to how to learn a language and basic communication skills in Italian needed to cope with daily living in the society, with a special emphasis on issues relating to "culture shock" when living, workingand studying in Italy. Prerequisite: WRTG-101, HIST-11X
