A multidisciplinary introduction to the Asian Subcontinent, including the countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The region's modern history, geography, politics, economies, religions, cultures and social issues are each discussed in an integrative manner. Regional popular culture, including modern music, literature and cinema, are also analyzed in order to help students understand the rapidly changing nature of this region today. Prerequisites: WRTG-101, HIST-11X
