Orientation to the basic principles of social research. Emphasis is on developing research mindedness and critical thinking, leading to use of research methods for problem solving in beginning generalist social work practice, and the evaluation of existing research. This course focuses on the completion of a research project that models the research process, stressing the importance of ethics in research. Open only to B.S.W. candidates; other students may elect this course with approval of the Department chair. Both semesters.
