A continuing study of conducting technique with emphasis on conducting instrumental literature. The course includes instrumental techniques particular to conducting (bowing, articulation, transposition, and idiomatic and non-idiomatic characteristics). Special attention is given to stylistic interpretation, score reading exercises, and instrumental conducting vocabulary. A project in concert programming is included. First semester.
