An introduction to conducting focusing on conducting patterns, regular and mixed meters; phrasing, entrances, dynamics, legato and staccato gestures; score preparation; harmonic and melodic aural skills. Additional attention is given to the development of tone quality, blend, and balance as well as proper diction and stylistic interpretation. Principles of congregational song-leading are also discussed. Second semester.
