An examination of the origins, content, and impact of public opinion. Special emphasis is placed on the advantages and limitations of public opinion polling. The course also examines the main agents of political socializtion. Topics of particular interest include the role of the family in political learning, racial differences in political socialization, and the influence of television on the formation of pre-adult political opinions.
