Description: This course is designed to introduce graduate students to the range of concerns and methodologies in composition and literacy research. Students will read articles representing research influenced by anthropology, education, literacy studies, sociolinguistics, and cognitive psychology. We will also consider theoretical pieces involved with current debates in composition studies as well as work reflecting the major political and social influences on the practice of writing pedagogy today.
