Introduction to the keyboard, development of speed and accuracy, and basic keyboarding applications, including business letters, memos, tables, and reports. All keyboarding courses (BTEC 101, 102, and 190) are taught as individualized instruction through self-paced study. Students register for BTEC 100. At the end of the quarter, registration will automatically be changed to the appropriate course(s). A student earns from 1 to (3 Credits) in a course depending on the number of lessons and tests successfully completed. Students receiving fewer than three (3) credits in a course may complete the course by reregistering for BTEC 100 the following quarter and continuing from where they ended the previous quarter. Students who reregister pay tuition for each remaining credit and the fee to complete the course. Unless prior arrangements have been made, an instructor has the right to drop a registered student from class if they fail to attend one or more sessions during the first week of the quarter. For more info refer to "No-Show Drop Policy." [GE]
