Introduction to paramedicine including topics of health and well-being of the paramedic, roles and responsibilities, and a general overview of EMS systems. Also discussed are the medical and legal issues facing the pre-hospital provider, therapeutic communications, patient communication, and lifespan development. In order for the course to be transcripted, the student must submit documentation of the following: (1) successful completion of a CAAHEP accredited Paramedic Program, (2) official notification of a passing score on the National Paramedics exam, and (3) an official Clark College Transcript documenting completion of a minimum of 30 hours of degree-relevant coursework.
