Through a study of the historical developments in the field of art education, the art education major will come to understand the current discipline based approach to curriculum development in the visual arts. A goal is the integration of the domains of art production, art history, aesthetics, and art criticism into sequential units and lessons, reflecting cultural diversity of the population being served.
