A course designed to provide an overview of China's geography, culture, and history. The history of China from its earliest beginnings up to the present will be covered. Students become familiar with the major dynasties of China and their characteristics. Topics include Chinese philosophy, classics, history and geography. On study tours, students visit many of the most famous Chinese sites of history and give presentations about that site or a related historical event. This CHIN course is only offered through the China Studies Program of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. Class 3.
