Students focus on making mathematics and science meaningful to children. Objectives cover TEKS required to prepare teachers of mathematics and science in Texas, as well as national standards. Topics include use of manipulatives, use of technology, planning and evaluating developmentally appropriate lessons, direct instructions, cooperative learning, planning for diversity, and adaptations for special populations. Students observe, then design and teach mathematics and science lessons in elementary school classrooms. Class 3. (Fall)
