Description:
Professional practice issues in the private and public sector are addressed by visiting practitioners. Topics include project management, teamwork, obtaining work, regulatory requirements, specifications, issues in design/build, design alternatives, cost estimation, design and construction drawings, contract and construction law, legal issues, ethics and professionalism, design reports, licensure, lifelong learning, ethical and engineering practice organizations. Learning principles of engineering practice by working as a team is emphasized. Oral and written presentations are required. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in CE 3110; Grade of C or better in either CE 3310 or IE 3312; Admission to the Professional Program.
