TCCN: ARTS 2346.] (0-6) 3 hours credit. Prerequisites: ART 1013. Introduction to basic ceramic concepts and techniques including wheel throwing, slab building, coil construction, and glazing, to create vessel and sculptural forms. Emphasis is placed on technical execution and the use of the material for personal expression. Students will also participate in team loading, unloading, and firing kilns. Lectures/presentations provide a general introduction to historical and contemporary ceramic artists and influences.
