Students study theory and application of the current edition of the ICD (International Classification of Disease) authorized for use in the US. Students code utilizing charts and participate in lab exercises. Assignment of diagnosis-related groups and computerized endcoding and grouping are presented using practical computer applications to perform these tasks.
