The course will examine the continued history of the British Empire after 1800. Topics will include: Irish, Welsh, Scots, and English relations; the effects of the American Revolution; the rise of the British Empire in the 19th Century; World Wars I and II; the transformation of the British Empire into the British Commonwealth; Britain's role in the EEC. Prerequisite(s): Completion of ENGL-095 and READ-095 with a "C" or higher or assessment at college-level reading and writing.
