This course provides advanced content related to the care of clients receiving intravenous fluids. Concepts related to selecting solutions, managing common complications, legal/ethical considerations, infection control, managing catheters and implanted port devices are discussed. Principles of the nursing process, growth and development, nutrition, pharmacology and health teaching are integrated. Prerequisite(s): NURS 221, 222 and 242 or instructor permission.
