The capstone course of the EMSP program. Designed to provide for teaching and evaluating comprehensive, assessment-based patient care management. At the completion of this module, the student will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression, and implement a treatment plan for patients with common complaints. Prerequisite: Appropriate scores on the reading, writing, and math portions of the THEA Test or alternate test OR completion of the math, reading, and writing, developmental course sequences. Prerequisite: Acceptance into Paramedic Program and successful completion of the second semester of paramedic program coursework. Co-Enrollment: EMSP 2262. One lecture and four laboratory hours per week. A score of 270 or higher on the MATH portion of THEA, 230 or higher on the Reading portion of THEA, and a 6 on the Writing portion of THEA, or completion of the appropriate remediation sequence of courses. Credit: One semester hour.
