This is an interdisciplinary course, integrating literature, economics, sociology, psychology, history, anthropology, and geography. This course will focus on historical and contemporary representations of women. It will also examine the varied experiences of women, with attention to the gendered dynamics of family, work, sexuality, race, religion, socioeconomic class, labor, and feminism. This course will fulfill the Division II distribution requirement. Prerequisite: one semester of college study, with preference given to sophomores.
