Introduction to selected theoretical perspectives related to democratic living, institutional processes, moral character, classical and modern ethics, and biblical perspectives on ethics. Major course topics include how and why public policy poses ethical problems, especially within public institutions such as schools, and how classical and modern ethical theories and biblical perspectives can be applied to these problems. (Alternate years, offered 2009-2010) Particular focus on public policies related to socio-cultural diversity in educational environments. Prerequisite: IDCR 151. Meets General Education Ethics in the Modern World requirement.
